It started with Rob's own trailer. After 20+ years as a carpenter and contractor in Calgary, AB, Rob built out a custom plywood racking system for his Enclosed Trailer — and it turned heads on every job site.
Other tradespeople kept asking: "Who built that?" Then they started asking: "Can you build one for me?"
One build turned into two. Two turned into ten. Word spread through Calgary's trades — HVAC techs, plumbers, electricians, general contractors — all wanting the same thing: a purpose-built workspace that actually fits the way they work.
That's how PLYRACKS Van Outfitters was born. Built by a tradesman, for tradesmen. Every build is custom, every rack is designed around your tools and your trade.

We use 5/8" Pre-finished Birch Plywood for most applications due to its light weight and rigidity. For flooring, we use sanded G1S 3/4" Plywood. For heavy-duty wall lining, we use 5/8" and 1/4" for Built-in Shelf Backing.
Custom van builds take 2–5 days in the shop. Our Pre-made units (for specific models only) can be installed in a matter of hours. We will give you a timeline on installation when reviewing your build.
We build for Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, Mercedes Sprinter, Chevy Express/GMC Savana, Box Trucks and Enclosed Trailers. If you have a different van, reach out — we can likely work with it.
Due to the custom nature of our systems, pricing can vary from $1,500–$5,000+. From a single container rack to a completely custom racking system, we work with all budgets and storage needs.
We stand behind our work. All builds come with a workmanship warranty. If something isn't right, we'll make it right. Plywood construction is incredibly durable — most of our builds outlast the van itself.
We're based in Calgary, AB and serve the greater Calgary area. Tradespeople from Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, and surrounding communities regularly bring their vans to us.
